ENTERCOM RENEWS ROYALS RADIO RIGHTS DEAL FOR THREE YEARS

The Royals and Entercom have agreed in principle to a
new three-year radio rights deal "believed to be an
escalating package starting at nearly" $1.6M per season,
according to Jeffrey Flanagan of the K.C. STAR. Under the
deal, Entercom's KMBZ-AM, which has been the Royals'
flagship station the last three seasons and for 26 of the
team's 32 seasons, will again be the flagship station.
Entercom will enter its next three-year term with the Royals
starting in 2001. The team had been weighing offers from
Entercom and WHB-AM "for months." Royals VP/Marketing &
Communications Mike Levy said that money "did not weigh in
as a major factor but that comparisons of signal strength
and audience reach were the keys" (K.C. STAR, 7/28).
THEY BELIEVE IN MAGIC: The Magic have entered into a
new three-year agreement with WDBO-AM to serve as the team's
     flagship radio station (RDV Sports).
