MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          NOTHING COULD BE FINER: Milwaukee-based GMR Marketing,
     an Omnicom Group event marketing agency, recently opened an
     office in Charlotte, NC.  The office will handle motorsports
     accounts, as well as sports and entertainment services for
     existing clients (GMR).  In Charlotte, David Scott noted
     that many of GMR's corporate clients, including Coleman,
     Cones, Kraft Foods and Mercedes, are involved in
     motorsports.  GMR also has offices in Chicago, N.Y., S.F.,
     Dallas, L.A. and Boca Raton (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 7/26).
          COLLEGIATE MARKETING NEWS: Boston College unveiled new
     logos for its athletic programs, which feature a revamped
     eagle and typeface.  The football, men's and women's
     basketball and ice hockey teams will don the marks this
     fall, while a phase-in plan is in place for all other sports
     (CLC)....JustBalls.com has signed a three-year deal to
     become the official ball distributor of the SEC, bringing
     the roster of the SEC's corporate partners to its maximum of
     15, six of which were signed during the past academic year. 
     Host handles sponsorship sales for the SEC (SEC).
          DEALS & DOLLARS: MLB Int'l has signed Israel-based
     Coast 2 Coast Communications for marketing and PR assistance
     in Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority (MLB)...The
     Blue Jackets signed marketing partnerships with Dominion
     Homes, Donatos Pizza and Stanley Steemer Int'l (THE DAILY).
