OLBERMANN'S NEW ITCH? WILL LEAVE "NSR" FOR WEEKLY SHOW

Keith Olbermann is leaving FSN's "National Sports
Report" to anchor a Sunday night program of news, interviews
and commentary for the network, according to Richard
Sandomir of the N.Y. TIMES. The hour-long program, called
"The Keith Olbermann Evening News," will air Sundays at
9:00pm ET, leading into "NSR." Olbermann anchored his last
"NSR" on July 5, and his new program will debut on August 6.
Sandomir notes that Olbermann started at FSN in January '99
in "hopes of making the news program a credible alternative
to ESPN's 'SportsCenter,' which he once anchored. Now, Fox
is trading Olbermann's presence five nights a week for a
     once-a-week showcase" (N.Y. TIMES, 7/20).
