NAMES IN THE NEWS

          In Boston, Fee & Raposa report that Bucks G RAY ALLEN
     will join actors ERIC STOLTZ, SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR and JOEY
     LAUREN ADAMS in the film "HARVARD MAN."  Directed by JAMES
     TOBACK, the film tells the story of a college basketball
     player who "fixes the big game for the Mob" (BOSTON HERALD,
     7/10)....Skater KRISTI YAMAGUCHI married NHL Panthers D BRET
     HEDICAN on Saturday in Hawaii (Mult., 7/10)....SI's S.L.
     Price writes that STEFFI GRAF "has thrown her life into
     supporting" boyfriend ANDRE AGASSI.  Price: "She has let her
     endorsement deals with Adidas and Wilson languish, because
     she has no interest in meeting sponsors or signing
     autographs.  She has done nothing to build a postplaying
     career: no TV, no commercials."  One source "close to Graf":
     "She's become a groupie.  She wants to be around Andre but
     doesn't know what else she wants to do.  It drives her
     crazy.  You look at her during Andre's match: She looks like
     she's in agony -- like all groupies" (SI, 7/10 issue)....In
     Denver, Jason Blevins profiled the Broncos' new in-house
     Counsel RICHARD SLIVKA, who is facing an "ever-increasing
     workload" of new stadium contracts, employee contracts and
     "legal trademark issues" (DENVER POST, 7/7)....In Dallas,
     Richard Alm profiled golf agent ROCKY HAMBRIC and his new
     agency Hambric Sports Management.  Hambric "intends to re-
     establish himself as one of the top agents in the golf
     business" and has spent the past six months "scouting the
     college ranks."  Hambric: "This is the best group of college
     players I've seen in a long time. ... From the standpoint of
     the company, the younger the players, the better" (DALLAS
     MORNING NEWS, 7/8)....The K.C. chapter of NFL Alumni hosted
     the LAMAR HUNT ROAST AND TRIBUTE Saturday night, with
     proceeds going to the YMCA of Greater Kansas City.  In K.C.,
     Ivan Carter wrote that tales during the roast "focused on
     Hunt's days riding the bench as [a] college [football]
     player at SMU, his ever-present outfit of a blue blazer and
     gray slacks and his penchant for frugality" (K.C. STAR,
     7/8).....NBC's Tracy Potts reported on the GORGE GAMES,
     where "over 2,000 citizen athletes this weekend are
     competing in their version of the Olympics" in OR.  The
     event over seven days is estimated to be worth $20M to the
     local economy ("NBC Nightly News," NBC, 7/9).
