FOX SPORTS DETROIT UNVEILS ITS "REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT"

          Wednesday night's 11:00pm debut of FSN Detroit's
     "Regional Sports Report" was co-hosted by Rod Simons and
     Bill Wixey.  The show opened with 0:30 of highlights from
     the '84 Tigers, the "Bad Boy" Pistons era, Red Wings and MI
     State Univ.'s men's basketball team.  Wixey: "Great memories
     for all of us and there's a lot more to come, Detroit." 
     Simons: "That's right.  Starting tonight, we're here to
     share new memories with you.  Your 'Regional Sports Report'
     starts right now."  Wixey: "For the next 30 minutes, it's
     all about Detroit, all about your team" ("RSN," 6/21).
          "RSR" TV MONITOR: "RSR" Detroit led with a 1:49 report
     on last night's Tigers-Blue Jays game and then had 3:34 of
     coverage and interviews from Tigers broadcasters Josh Lewin
     and Trevor Thompson at the SkyDome.  That was followed by a
     1:11 report on the Pacers being close to hiring Isiah Thomas
     as coach and the Raptors' hiring of Lenny Wilkens as coach.
     The rest of the show included 1:20 report on the Lions; a
     2:48 interview with Ilitch Holdings co-Presidents Denise and
     Christopher Ilitch; 0:48 report on the Red Wings increasing
     ticket prices; 1:45 commentary from Bill Krueger on the
     Tigers; and 3:17 on the CART Detroit Grand Prix.  Wixey
     signed off last night by saying, "Thanks for joining us on
     this very eventful night, the inaugural night of your
     'Detroit Regional Sports Report'" ("RSR," FSN, 6/21).
