HELP WANTED: CANADA'S ALPINE SKI TEAM LOOKING FOR SPONSORS

Two "major" companies -- the Mackenzie Financial Group,
which held naming rights, and Rogers AT&T Wireless --
"didn't renew" their sponsorship of Canada's Alpine ski
team, according to James Christie of the Toronto GLOBE &
MAIL, who reports that the two sponsors "left a gap" in the
budget of "at least" C$1M per year. Alpine Canada President
Kerry Moynihan: "Rogers is going into tennis. Mackenzie
will be involved with Canadian disabled skiers and with
provincial skiing in Ontario and Alberta." Christie writes
that Moynihan is now looking for two new corporate sponsors
"willing" to sign a two-year deal through the 2002 Games at
C$400,000 "or more" per year. While losing two sponsors,
the alpine team retained General Motors, Descente and
$800,000 from Sport Canada (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 6/22).
