SHAQ TO SCHOOL: DUNK.NET INKS DEAL WITH NCAA LICENSING ARM

Dunk.net COO Chris Walsh said that the Internet
retailer, partly owned by Lakers C Shaquille O'Neal and
agent Leonard Armato, has reached a deal with the Collegiate
Licensing Company (CLC) for the "right to put college logos
on its products," according to Scott Soshnick of BLOOMBERG
NEWS. Walsh added that as part of the agreement, Dunk.net
will "place product displays in bookstores on college
campuses," but he declined to disclose specific terms of the
pact. Walsh noted that the Web site, beginning next month,
will offer consumers the "option of customizing their own
sneakers," and said the deal with CLC "ties in with our
personalization strategy. Now a person can put their
college logo on their sneaker" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 5/23).
