EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          GM VP/Advertising & Corporate Marketing PHIL GUARASCIO
     announced Friday that he will retire May 1 after 14 years
     with the company.  BRANDWEEK's Jeff Green reports that JOHN
     MIDDLEBROOK, GM's VP/Vehicle Brand Marketing and "point man"
     on the company's regional marketing strategy, "arguably
     becomes the world's most powerful ad exec as he adds the
     duties held by" Guarascio for GM's $2.5B ad budget
     (BRANDWEEK, 3/20 issue)....Dallas Morning News columnist
     FRANK LUKSA retired last week after "40 years on the Dallas-
     Fort Worth sports beat."  Luksa will continue to contribute
     one column a week to the paper's sports page (DALLAS MORNING
     NEWS, 3/19)....The Rams promoted KEVIN WARREN from VP/Player
     Programs to VP/Football Administration (Mult., 3/20)....HAL
     WHITEFORD was named President of Racing for CART.  Whiteford
     was VP/Operations for Mercedes-Benz USA (CART).
