WOMEN'S TENNIS EVENT GETS SOME STYLE IN NEW TITLE SPONSOR

Estyle.com, a Web site that sells "high-end" kids
apparel, plans to announce a multiyear deal to become "the
new title sponsor" of the Sanex WTA Tour event in Manhattan
Beach, CA, according to Daniel Kaplan of the SPORTSBUSINESS
JOURNAL, who notes that Estyle "is the first online company
to title sponsor either" a Sanex Tour or ATP Tour event.
While terms were not disclosed, "observers estimate" that
the company "could be spending" $750,000 to $1M, including
the sponsorship fee and ad commitments on NBC's finals
telecast August 13. Honda's Acura brand had title sponsored
the event since '95, but the company "moved its sponsorship"
to the Sanex WTA Tour stop in San Diego (SPORTSBUSINESS
JOURNAL, 3/20). In L.A., Bill Dwyre reports that the deal
"will be announced today" (L.A. TIMES, 3/20).
