ANC CHAIR COHEN RUMORED TO HAVE INTEREST IN DENVER TEAMS

ANC Sports Chair Alan Cohen, who previously owned
stakes in the Celtics and Nets, "is exploring the
possibility of buying" the Nuggets, Avalanche and Pepsi
Center, according to Steve Caulk of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS,
who wrote that Cohen joins outgoing Devils Owner John
McMullen and a group led by Rams Majority Owner Stan Kroenke
as potential bidders for the sports assets. A source close
to Cohen said that he "has intensified his hopes of" making
a deal "following a preliminary investigation last year,"
although Cohen has not commented on the reports. ANC, which
was founded in '97 and provides rotational signage to arenas
and stadiums throughout the country, "is negotiating to
provide signage" at the Broncos' new stadium. The company
has also sent reps to the Pepsi Center "to scout
possibilities there" (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 3/18). Meanwhile,
sources say that McMullen "is intrigued with the idea of a
long unrealized goal: to own his own NHL and NBA teams,
along with the arena they play in" (DENVER POST, 3/17).
