AFTER THREE YEARS, OAKLAND FOOTBALL DIR STEPS DOWN

Oakland Football Marketing Association Dir Richard
Rogers, who has held the position for the past three years,
has resigned to become Sports Sales Manager with KTVU-Fox in
S.F., according to Laura Counts of the OAKLAND TRIBUNE.
While Oakland Football Dir of Operations Michael Re was
named interim Marketing Dir, Counts wrote that Rogers'
replacement "will be someone with even more experience." Re
has said that he would "like to keep the job permanently --
despite the fact that he would not be able to make changes
in the ticket structure until the lawsuit between the
Raiders, Oakland and Alameda County is settled" over the
team's lease. The new hire will be "charged with" marketing
and selling Raiders tickets, PSLs and suites. Rogers: "For
all the things that have gone on here, I have enjoyed what
I've done and all the relationships that I've developed.
There is some guilt in leaving because the job is not done.
But I'm proud of some of the things we've done under
difficult circumstances." Counts wrote that although the
Marketing Association "has had more lows than highs," Rogers
"brought stability after a turbulent start." Meanwhile,
Rogers said that his departure will allow the marketing
association to hire more customer service reps when the
ticket-selling season begins (OAKLAND TRIBUNE, 3/18).
