EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          ALAN GOLD was named VP/Int'l Media for NFL Int'l.  Gold
     joined the league as Dir of Business Affairs in '96 (NFL
     Int'l)....Fila named GREGORY MACKEEN as VP/Footwear
     Marketing.  MacKeen was previously VP & GM of Converse
     Canada.  Fila promoted Dir of Production & Development KIM
     NELSON to VP/Apparel Product Marketing.  Nelson will be
     responsible for managing apparel product marketing, design,
     development and production.  Nelson has been with Fila for
     the past six years (Fila)....SFX Corporate Consulting, a
     division of SFX Entertainment, named MARK TROPEA as Account
     Supervisor.  Tropea, who will manage MLB's sponsorship deal
     with Claritin, was previously with N.Y.-based marketing
     services agency Momentum (SFX Entertainment)....Former San
     Jose Mayor TOM MCENERY is stepping down as Vice Chair of the
     Sharks after six years, "citing his desire to spend time on
     other projects" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 2/24)....The Knicks
     announced that VP/Player Personnel ED TAPSCOTT has left the
     organization.  Tapscott had worked for the team since '91. 
     Tapscott's departure is the subject of WILLIAM RHODEN's
     column in today's N.Y. TIMES (2/24)....Chicago Motor
     Speedway has named JOHN MAHOLM as Sponsorship Sales Manager
     and PETER GRIDELLI as Ticket Manager (THE DAILY)....MLS
     Manager of Communications & Client Relations CARIE GOLDBERG
     has left to take a Media Relations post at Sportsnet (THE
     DAILY)....Bank of America Centre in ID made the following
     appointments: JACK CARNEFIX was named Dir of Communications
     & Media Relations; MIKE DIPALMA was named Dir of Marketing;
     and TODD WOODHEAD was named Dir of Sponsorship Sales (Bank
     of America Centre)....LISA CRAIG was named Senior Marketing
     Manager for the women's line of products in Russell
     Athletic's retail operations.  Craig previously worked as a
     Customer Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola (Russell Athletic).
