          In Denver, Mark Wolf profiles Ascent Sports Senior
     VP/Business & Administration RON SALLY, who oversees the
     charity and community outreach efforts of the Nuggets and
     Avalanche.  Sally is "a role model for turning athletic and
     academic achievements into a sports-oriented business
     career."  Sally: "Philanthropy is good business, and our
     philanthropic activities are pretty well-known" (ROCKY
     MOUNTAIN NEWS, 2/24)....During the offseason, Indians SS
     OMAR VIZQUEL joined the effort to aid "devasted areas of
     Venezuela" hit by mud-and-rock slides.  Vizquel helped
     Worldvision raise $400,000 and organized a celebrity
     softball game in Caracas that raised $200,000 (AKRON BEACON
     JOURNAL, 2/24)....The WOMEN'S SPORTS FOUNDATION will receive
     the WOMEN AND SPORT TROPHY, presented annually by the IOC to
     organizations contributing to develop and encourage the
     participation of women and girls in sport.  The trophy will
     be presented at the IOC World Conference on Women and Sport
     March 6 in Paris (USOC).....FSN's Keith Olbermann noted that
     SERGIO GARCIA plays MIKE WEIR in today's WGC Andersen
     Consulting Match Play Championships in CA: "The GRATEFUL
     DEAD matchup -- Garcia and Weir" ("Fox Sports News," 2/23).
     ...NBC's Jay Leno: "There was a prison riot up in Crescent
     City, California, today.  The final score: BALTIMORE RAVENS
