FACILITY NOTES

The Brown County (WI) board voted 21-2 in favor of a
resolution calling on the State Legislature to "delay
action" on the Lambeau Field renovation bill "to provide the
county time to analyze" both the plan and "potential funding
alternatives." The board decided to spend $2,000 to hire IN
Univ.-Purdue Univ. at Indianapolis Economics Professor Mark
Rosentraub to study the impact of a stadium sales tax on the
     county (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 2/17).
NOTES: In Toronto, Chris Young calls Conseco Fieldhouse
a place where "old and new meet and it works, well, like a
charm." Young calls Staples Center "the worst" of the new
facilities, as it is a "hideous monstrosity devoid of
anything approaching atmosphere" (TORONTO STAR, 2/17).
...BLOOMBERG NEWS' Rick Westhead reported that an
"increasing number" of English soccer teams are considering
the selling of naming rights to their stadiums. The Bonham
Group Chair Dean Bonham: "It's virgin territory. They are
where we were 10 years ago. In the next decade, you'll see
a proliferation of naming-rights deals, likely with some
     U.S.-based multinational" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 2/14).
