BRONCOS TO FEATURE STADIUM STABLE WITH 2,000 CHEAP SEATS

The Broncos' new stadium will "have its own version" of
the Rockies' Rockpile at Coors Field "where fans can buy
cheaper seats on game day," according to Cindy Brovsky of
the DENVER POST. State lawmakers "quietly demanded the
little known provision for reduced-price tickets" in '98
while completing a plan for the $364.2M stadium. The ticket
policy "will require the team to supply 2,000 game-day
tickets at half the price of the average ticket," which
ranges from $25 to $56. The change will not impact the
70,000-73,000 current season-ticket holders. Details of the
ticket plan "still need to be worked out before the new
stadium opens in August 2001." Officials want to "assure
the tickets don't land in the hands of scalpers" and one
idea is to sell the game-day "tickets inside the stadium so
fans go right to their seats" (DENVER POST, 2/10).
