STERN LURES TOP CLINTON ADVISOR FOR STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

          The NBA has named DOUGLAS SOSNICK, a former top advisor
     to PRESIDENT CLINTON, as Senior VP/Strategic & Corporate
     Communications for NBAE, effective March, 13.   Sosnick, who
     replaces JEFFREY POLLACK, who recently joined Broadband
     Sports, will also have broad responsibility over the
     league's Community Relations endeavors.  Sosnick has served
     as Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy
     and has been one of Clinton's most senior advisors over the
     past six years.  He also served as Chief of Staff to U.S.
     Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) from '91-94.  In other moves, the
     league promoted ROD THORN to Exec VP/Basketball Operations,
     JOEL LITVIN to Exec VP/Legal & Business Affairs and MIKE
     BANTOM to Senior VP/Player & Basketball Development (NBA).
