AFTER LOSING NASCAR, TNN READY TO RUN WITH THE OUTLAWS

TNN President David Hall said this week that the
network "has purchased an interest" in the World of Outlaws
series and the American Speed Association (ASA), according
to Jeff Wolf of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. Hall did not
reveal the size of the stake, but referred to TNN as an
"equity partner." Hall: "We've been working on (a
partnership with ASA) for the past six or seven years, but
we've been sold so many times it's been hard to keep
(negotiations) alive. ... Our mission is to have properties
and have [TV] rights in such a fashion that we make our
money and grow their business. We don't run their business,
     and they don't run ours" (REVIEW-JOURNAL, 1/14).
