Warner Bros. Records confirmed that MADONNA will not
perform during SUPER BOWL XXXIV's pregame show. No reason
was given (USA TODAY, 1/12). CBS' DAVID LETTERMAN, prior to
the news, said, "Madonna will be performing at the Super
Bowl. I just got off the phone with [NFL Commissioner] PAUL
TAGLIABUE's office at the NFL and he told me that the
winning team that gets the coin toss also gets to have sex
with Madonna" ("Late Show," 1/11)...In N.Y., Lawrence Van
Gelder reviews the new documentary on MLB HOFer HANK
GREENBERG called, "The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg."
The film is playing for two weeks at the N.Y. Film Forum,

$25M grant from THE ANSCHUTZ FOUNDATION will help the Univ.
of CO (CU) build two new buildings for "specialty care and
outpatient cancer care" on CU's Aurora campus. University
officials said that the grant is "the largest in their

Early Show" yesterday, NHL referee PAUL STEWART cited the
