EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          Ascent Sports VP/Corporate Sales MICHAEL ARTHUR is
     leaving to become a VP at Denver-based Internet start-up
     EventConnex.com, an online events planning resource.  Arthur
     joins former Ascent Sports President ELLEN ROBINSON at the
     site.  Ascent Sports' Manager of Corporate Sponsorship BRIAN
     JONES will replace Arthur (Ascent Sports)....Former Target
     exec PATRICK LEAHY has been named Senior VP/Marketing at
     CART.  He replaces CARL COHEN who left last July (AUTO WEEK,
     1/10 issue)....LOREN MATTHEWS was named ABC Sports Senior
     VP/Programming.  Matthews was at ESPN (USA TODAY,
     1/12)...PA-based Global Sports named STEVEN DAVIS as Senior
     VP/Marketing.  Davis comes from Just for Feet (Global
     Sports)....Spalding President of Int'l Licensing & Worldwide
     Relations SCOTT CREELMAN resigned on January 4 (GOLF WORLD
     BUSINESS, 1/11)....The NJ Sports & Exposition Authority
     named TIM HASSETT to Senior VP/Sports & Ent. Development. 
     He was VP & Giants Stadium Operations GM (NJSEA).
