NBC CLOSE TO DEAL WITH NETZERO TO SPONSOR NBA BROADCASTS

          CA-based free ISP NetZero is "working on a deal to
     sponsor halftime programs" of all "NBA on NBC" broadcasts,
     according to AD AGE.  The multiyear "NetZero @ the Half"
     sponsorship would start December 25.  A deal has not been
     signed and a spokesperson cautioned that "there was a chance
     a deal wouldn't come to pass, pending resolution of a last-
     minute 'glitch.'"  NetZero would replace Prudential, NBC's
     NBA halftime sponsor since '89 (AD AGE, 12/16).
