SALE OF LICENSE PLATES MAY BE USED FOR PACKERS STADIUM DRIVE

Packers President Bob Harlan met yesterday with WI
state lawmakers -- including Senate President Fred Risser
(D-Madison) -- "making the team's case for public funding of
a new or improved" Lambeau Field, according to Scott
Hildebrand of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. Meanwhile,
Senate Majority Leader Charles Chvala said that he will
"propose the creation" of plan to sell Packers license
plates for $40 each, which "could raise about" $4M a year
"to help pay off stadium bonds" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE,
12/10). Meanwhile, in an exchange for possible public aid,
Risser said that Packers officials "suggested" that "up to"
3,000 of 8,000 new seats in an expanded Lambeau Field "might
be set aside for single-game sales for fans without season
     tickets" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/10).
