LEAGUE NOTES

          The Canucks will hold training camp in September 2000
     in Stockholm, Sweden and, as part of a joint venture between
     the NHL and NHLPA, will participate in the NHL Challenge-
     Stockholm 2000 tournament, featuring Swedish teams
     Djurgarden, AIK and MoDo.  The event is being co-produced by
     EMA Telstar AB-Stockholm in association with IMG-Stockholm,
     the Globe Arena, the Swedish Hockey League and the
     Djurgarden Hockey Club (NHL)....After rules changes and a
     new TV schedule for MLS, CBS SportsLine's Rob Miech wrote
     that new Commissioner Don Garber is "making quite an impact.
     ... Garber has done more in a few short months than Doug
     Logan did in a few years" (CBS SportsLine, 11/18).
