TOTAL SPORTS RAISES $37M IN NEW FUNDING; INKS DEAL W/NBC

NC-based Total Sports completed a "major funding" deal
last week and followed that Friday "by filing papers" for an

The company raised $37M, including $10M from CA-based
Technology Crossover Ventures. Other investors included
Charlotte-based Piedmont Venture Partners, "an early Total
backer, which is the company's largest shareholder." Total
Sports also filed with the SEC to raise up to $57.5M through
an IPO, which could come "early next year." Boraks also
reported that Total Sports signed a deal with NBC, "swapping
