EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          In Atlanta, Jeff Schultz reported that Thrashers Exec
     VP DAVE MAGGARD is "leaving the team" and "plans to move
     back" to CA.  Maggard was hired by Turner Sports President
     HARVEY SCHILLER three years ago to "assist in various
     aspects of the organization" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 9/25).
     ...GAYLE BODIN PETTY has resigned as USOC Associate Dir of
     Media & Public Affairs after 16 years, effective October 15
     (USOC)....JODI FALKENTHAL was named Kaleidoscope Manager of
     Advertising Sales (Kaleidoscope)....The WCHL has named
     MICHAEL DEMAINE Dir of Communications.  He replaces SAMMY
     WALLACE, who has been named RDV Sports and IHL Solar Bears
     Manager of Communications (WCHL)....KATHRYN MCDONALD was
     named to the newly created position of Fotoball
     VP/Promotions.  McDonald was previously VP/Sales & Marketing
     for promotions firm Lulirama/McMason Int'l (Fotoball).  
          SHARKS MAKE MOVES: The Sharks announced several
     promotions over the weekend: KENT RUSSELL was named VP/Sales
     & Marketing.  Russell will oversee ticket sales and
     operations, marketing, advertising and publicity; GREG
     ELLIOTT was promoted from Dir of Sponsorship to VP/Corporate
     Partnerships and RICH SOTELO was named VP/Building
     Operations.  Sotelo has served as San Jose Arena Management
     Dir of Operations the past four years (Sharks).
