EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          In Atlanta, Frances Katz reports that TBS & Turner
     South President WILLIAM BURKE has been named Time Warner
     Digital Media President & CEO.  Burke's job will be "to
     develop a strategic plan to integrate the various" Time
     Warner properties into a "viable Web site" (ATLANTA
     CONSTITUTION, 9/15)....Churchill Downs GM ALEX WALDROP has
     been named President in an organizational realignment at the
     track.  Churchill Downs VP/Information Technology MATT
     IULIANO has been appointed COO of Charlson Broadcast
     Technologies, a Churchill Downs subsidiary.  Churchill Downs
     Senior VP/Sales DAVID CARRICO has resigned to pursue other
     interests.  Also, former Louisville Sports Spectrum GM
     PATRICK TROUTMAN has been named Churchill Racing Network
     Project Dir, and GREG BUSH, who has been working in the
     Churchill Downs Operations Department, has been named Sports
     Spectrum GM (Churchill Downs)....Spalding Sports Worldwide
     named DAN FREY as CFO.  Frey, who comes from Duracell Int'l,
     will replace WADE LEWIS (Spalding)....GREG BUSCH was named
     Dir of Sports Marketing at WI-based event marketing firm GMR
     Marketing (GMR)....Hibbett Sporting Goods has promoted
     MICHAEL NEWSOME to President & CEO effective immediately. 
     Newsome was previously President & COO (Hibbett)....BILL
     BUSCH has been named World Championship Wrestling Exec VP
     and will supervise day-to-day operations (Turner Sports).
