BRONCOS EXPECTED TO RECLAIM OWNERSHIP OF LUXURY SUITES

A deal that will place the ownership of the luxury
suites at Mile High Stadium "back in the hands of" the
Broncos is "expected to close" Monday, according to Penny
Parker of the DENVER POST. Broncos VP/Business Operations
Joe Ellis confirmed that the rights to the 57 luxury boxes
"will shift from" Penthouse Suites to the Broncos. The
purchase price was not disclosed. In other news, Parker
adds that the Broncos' new stadium will have 106 luxury
suites and more than 75% have already been sold for between
$75,000-125,000 annually. If initial suite sales "go well,"
the Broncos "may add" 40 suites to the design of the new
stadium (DENVER POST, 8/27). Linda Alvarado, who is part
owner of the Rockies and owner of Alvarado Construction Co.,
which is helping build the new Broncos stadium, was profiled
by NBC's Anne Thompson on the "Breaking Through: Women on
the Job" feature on last night's "Nightly News." Alvarado:
"I would say construction and sports are probably the last
bastions of male dominance" (NBC, 8/26).
