NEVADA BOB'S CANADA HAS PLANS TO ACQUIRE TWO COMPANIES

          Nevada Bob's Canada, a chain of golf specialty stores,
     said that "it plans to acquire its U.S. counterpart" Nevada
     Bob's Pro Shop and TX-based GDH International, "creating one
     of the industry's largest golf retailers," according to Lila
     LaHood of the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM.  GDH, "parent" of the
     Alien Sports golf line and several smaller brands, will
     retain its headquarters in Arlington.  The new company,
     called Nevada Bob's Golf, will comprise 247 stores,
     including 159 franchise locations, with expected annual
     revenues of $250M.  Shareholders from GDH and Nevada Bob's
     Pro Shop have "approved the merger" (STAR-TELEGRAM, 8/27).
