SPONSORS ON CAMPUS: BURGER KING LAUNCHES NCAA AD CAMPAIGN

          Burger King unveiled a scratch-off game promo tied to
     the '99 NCAA football season, and will run it from August 30
     through September 25.  Game cards will be available in-
     store, via mail or through a Sports Illustrated ad in the
     September 6 issue (Burger King).  The contest will be
     supported by four :30 "general market" TV spots from N.Y.-
     based Ammirati Puris Lintas, one :30 spot "targeted to
     African-Americans" from N.Y.-based UniWorld Group and one
     :30 spot "targeted to Hispanics" from San Antonio-based
     Bromley Aguilar & Associates (AD AGE, 8/25).
          NCAA NOTES: America West Airlines has signed a long-
     term partnership deal with the Univ. of Southern CA (USC),
     giving it the exclusive marketing rights as USC's official
     airline sponsor, with the designation to appear on all
     signage, radio broadcasts, Internet sites, promos and events
     coordinated by USC Athletics (America West)....MI-based KMC
     Telecom will become a corporate partner of Univ. of MI
     football, men's and women's basketball, hockey and baseball
     teams for the '99-2000 school year.  The deal includes print
     ads for all sports and signage at Crisler Arena and Yost Ice
     Arena (KMC).
