FACILITY NOTES

St. Paul Mayor Norm Coleman called for the public to
have the first say on his new plan to bring the Twins to St.
Paul. Coleman said some MN legislators don't want the tax
increase for the ballpark to pass so they don't "have to
deal with the issue" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 8/10)....Also
in St. Paul, Charley Walters writes that the "latest
indications are that US West will end up with naming rights"
to St. Paul's new arena for the Wild (PIONEER PRESS, 8/10).
DID SOMEBODY SAY SPORTSERVICE? In Toronto, Laura Bobak
cites SportsCo co-CEO Alan Cohen as saying that McDonald's
of Canada "is in the final stages of negotiations to sell
its food concession rights" at SkyDome to Buffalo-based
Sportservice. Bobak: "A senior sports industry exec
speculated that McDonald's wants out of its 35-year contract
because its revenue from SkyDome has failed to meet
     expectations" (TORONTO SUN, 8/10).
