THROUGH MILLROSE COLORED GLASSES: ADVANTAGE ACQUIRES EVENT

IMG is "selling off" the Millrose Games to Advantage
Int'l "in a deal in the low to mid six figures" which is
"expected to be finalized by the end of August," according
to Terry Lefton of BRANDWEEK. IMG has "owned and managed"
the nation's oldest invitational track meet since '92, but
the sale "signals IMG's exit from track and field." IMG VP
& Dir of Client Services Steve Lindecke said that the sport
"has become less important to the agency recently." Lefton
writes that Advantage is "adding inventory to a client
roster" that includes the sport's governing body, USA Track
& Field. However, Chase's title sponsorship deal expired
after last year's event (BRANDWEEK, 8/9 issue).
