FRANCHISE NOTES

Four Bucs season-ticket holders have filed a class-
action lawsuit against the team alleging that it used
"secret factors" that "may have benefited" elected officials
and other VIPs when it selected the seating assignments for
ticket holders at Raymond James Stadium (ST. PETERSBURG
TIMES, 6/30)....Five Cubs fans who were arrested at the May
30 Cardinals-Cubs game for throwing "Oh Henry!" candy bars
on the field when Cubs LF Henry Rodriguez came to bat were
given a new court date last week and told to hire attorneys.
The judge's decision came after they rejected a deal to
plead guilty, pay a $200 fine and accept three months of
court supervision. Cubs Exec VP/Business Operations Mark
McGuire said Monday that the team has "no great interest in
seeing these people penalized" (SUN-TIMES, 6/29)....The
Blackhawks have "substantially lowered" the price of upper-
level seats at the United Center for next season. Seats in
the 300 section behind the goals have been reduced from $40
to $25. Seats in rows 8-11 have been dropped from $25 to
$15, bringing the total of seats costing $15 or less to
     4,000, almost 20% of the arena (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 6/30).
