COLTS DRAFT PICK JAMES CROSSES A P OFF HIS MASTER LIST

Advisors for Colts RB EDGERRIN JAMES said that No Limit
Sports, headed by MASTER P, did "a poor job in negotiations"
for Saints RB RICKY WILLIAMS and is "definitely off the list
of candidates" to represent James, according to Jason Cole
of the MIAMI HERALD. James advisor TYRONE WILLIAMS, on
signing with No Limit Sports: "No chance, not after the
contract they negotiated. ... There are way too many ifs in
[Williams'] contract. ... We've been talking with other
players from the NFL, veteran players who have been around,
and they're laughing at this deal" (MIAMI HERALD, 5/28).
TANK BLACK SAGA: In Tampa, Joey Knight reports that two
former Univ. of FL football players "have alleged" they
"received money as a part of signing" with agent TANK BLACK.
JEVON KEARSE and JOHNNY RUTLEDGE "made the allegations" in
affidavits that led to a search warrant for Black's offices
in Columbia, SC (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 5/28). Black's Detroit-
based attorney Leonard Mungo said that the NAACP is set to
ask the U.S. Attorney's office to investigate the Univ. of
FL's actions against Black. Mungo called the investigation
a "witch hunt," and said he has spoken with Jesse Jackson
"about getting involved" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 5/28). In
St. Petersburg, Joanne Korth writes that the Univ. of FL has
retained attorney MICHAEL GLAZIER of the KS-based firm Bond,
Schoeneck & King during the "probe into agent recruitment of
former Gator athletes" (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 5/28).
