ONE BILL SIGNED FOR PATS, MORE BILLS NEEDED TO REACH GOAL

MA leaders officially signed a $70M stadium bill for
the Patriots yesterday, but Gregg Krupa of the BOSTON GLOBE
reports that local business reps "have fallen short" of
their goal of selling $15M in premium seating for a new
stadium in Foxboro. MA attorney Paul Kirk Jr.: "Frankly,
I'm delighted with where we are. We've won our fight with
the skeptics and this is now reality. We're just going to
continue to go on until the job is done." Kirk added that
they have "commitments for about" $7.5M in premium seating.
Woolf Associates President Larry Moulter: "I think the
lesson is that one needs to be careful saying publicly how
high the bar is raised. These are expensive properties, and
the companies don't make their decisions that quickly."
More Moulter: "I think they will sell, across time." Game
Plan LLC Chair Bob Caporale, on the $7.5M raised: "I thought
from the start that their goal was overly ambitious. If
they've achieved that number in that short a period of time,
I think they've done well" (BOSTON GLOBE, 5/25).
