"HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA" SEES NICE NHL RATINGS BUMP

          CBC's "Hockey Night In Canada" is averaging 1.502
     million viewers per game for its second round coverage of
     the NHL playoffs, up 32% from a year ago, according to Rob
     Longley of the TORONTO SUN.  The audience through two rounds
     has averaged 1.475 million viewers, 39% higher than '98. 
     The ratings "figure to get better because the next round
     will mark the first time a Canadian-based team has advanced
     beyond the second round since 1994" (TORONTO SUN, 5/19).
          BIG DEAL IN BIG D: Monday's Game Six of the Stars-Blues
     series earned FSN Southwest a 4.7/7 in the Dallas-Ft. Worth
     DMA, the area's highest-rated sports program that day (FSN).
