BRILL'S CONTENT TAKES A LOOK AT WHO MAKES WHAT IN MEDIA

BRILL'S CONTENT publishes its "'99 Salary Report: Who
Gets Paid What," listing the annual salary of various
members of the media, consisting of TV, magazines,
newspapers, radio and online mediums. BRILL'S Eric Effron
writes that while "many people didn't want to talk about
their own salaries, they sure were interested in learning
about everyone else's." Effron: "While we only included
salaries that we were confident about, there is a wide
variety in the kinds and levels of confirmation we
received." Included in the compensation figure is salary
and bonus, "but not other income, such as outside speaking
fees, stock options, and other payments that could be
significant." Among the sports media members -- or
positions -- listed: Fox Sports Net's KEITH OLBERMANN
     ($2.67M); ESPN/ABC Sports' ROBIN ROBERTS ($650,000); Sports
Illustrated Managing Editor BILL COLSON ($600,000); WCBS-NY
