THINKING OUTSIDE THE FOX: NET LAUNCHES TWO APPAREL LINES

Fox Sports is "extending its brand name to apparel with
two lifestyle lines, one for sedentary quarterbacks of the
Monday-morning variety and another for weekend warriors
still capable of playing pickup games on the street,"
according to Richard Morgan of DAILY VARIETY. Fox
President/Licensing & Merchandising Steve Ross called the
"more active" line, "Fox Edge," more "hip than hip-hop."
The Edge will include hats, shirts and "hockey-style"
jerseys. The "Fox Classic" line will consist of vests,
shorts, polo shirts and other "golf-type" apparel. Both
lines will bear the redesigned Fox Sports logo, "thus
ensuring [their] eventual appearance on on-air talent and
     on-field crews" (DAILY VARIETY, 4/22).
GETTING ITS KICKS: DAILY VARIETY's Andrew Paxman
reports that Fox Kids Latin America has "inked an
unprecedented promotional deal" with Reebok to launch a
soccer tournament dubbed "Copa Fox Kids" in May and June.
The event will be supported by an on-air campaign and guest
appearances by int'l soccer players, and will include
training sessions, equipment donations and tickets to pro
games for underprivileged kids, as well as weekend
tournaments in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru. A
source at Fox said the combined investment in the campaign
is "in the high six figures" (DAILY VARIETY, 4/23).
