REDS DEAL SCHOTT DOWN? JUDGE TEMPORARILY HALTS SALE OF TEAM

An OH judge "halted" the sale of Reds Owner Marge
Schott's stake in the team Friday for two weeks while
attorneys try to determine whether she has two legitimate
offers for the team, according to Cliff Peale of the
CINCINNATI POST. The temporary order handed down by
Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Ruehlman
prevents Schott "from taking any action to sell any of her
shares in the Reds" until April 29, when a hearing is
scheduled to consider a preliminary injunction. The order
also suspends the 30-day window for Schott's limited
partners to match any offer for her shares. Meanwhile, OH-
based Meridian Diagnostics co-Founder Jerry Ruyen has said
he "has been approached" by Steve Schott about joining his
investment group. Ruyen: "He has rounded up the necessary
financing" (CINCINNATI POST, 4/17). If the limiteds are
granted the injunction, "it clears the way" for them to
acquire Marge Schott's shares by matching Cleveland attorney
Larry Dolan's $65M offer for the team (CIN. ENQUIRER, 4/17).
