          BOB LANIER TO ASSIST DAVID STERN: The NBA announced the
     following moves and promotions yesterday: Hall of Famer BOB
     LANIER was named Special Assistant to Commissioner DAVID
     STERN; HEIDI UEBERROTH was named to Senior VP/Int'l TV &
     Business Development; GREGG WINIK was named Senior
     VP/Programming & Exec Producer; HORACE BALMER was named
     Senior VP/Security; BILL DAUGHERTY was named Senior
     VP/Business Development; JOEL LITVIN was named Senior VP &
     General Counsel; KEN ADELSON was named VP/Production; former
     NBAer MIKE BANTOM was named VP/Attractions and CHRIS BRIENZA
     was promoted to VP/Sports Media Relations (NBA).
          OTHER MOVES: Falcons Dir of PR CHARLIE TAYLOR resigned
     Monday after 12 years with the team.  Taylor "did not say he
     was forced to leave, but he often felt left out of the loop
     by the front office" (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 2/23)....Former
     Lifetime TV CEO DOUG MCCORMICK has joined the board of
     iVillage.com, the online network focusing on women's issues. 
     McCormick has his own consulting firm in N.Y. (ELECTRONIC
     MEDIA, 2/23)....TX-based Branding Partners promoted DONNA
     MATA to Managing Dir (Branding Partners).
