REPORT OUT OF TAMPA HAS ART WILLIAMS THINKING SALE

          Lightning Owner Art Williams said he will sell the team
     and rights to the Ice Palace unless he can find a partner by
     the end of the season, according to Ira Kaufman of the TAMPA
     TRIBUNE.  Williams "expressed confidence he can secure a
     partner," and said that one Tampa Bay individual has made a
     "50-50" proposition.  An alternative possibility "involves
     sharing ownership with two out-of-town groups."  Williams:
     "I would still have a sizable investment in that scenario." 
     But one source close to the talks said Williams "already has
     decided to pull out" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 2/10).  Under the
     header, "Williams Can't Bail Out Now," Roy Cummings writes
     that "thanks to Williams, the Lightning finally are on the
     road to respectability ... [among] other owners and GMs,"
     and if Williams has "patience ... the Lightning will grow up
     to be big and strong" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 2/10).
