MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          DEALS: Time Warner and Daimler-Chrysler's Dodge
     division inked a one-year, $15M "cross-media ad deal," which
     includes print ads in SI, ads on CNN/SI.com and TV ads on
     CNN, CNN/SI and the CNN Airport Network (AD AGE, 1/18
     issue)....Golfer Patty Sheehan, on losing four sponsors,
     including Callaway: "I figured my contract would be cut [due
     to an industry downturn], but I didn't figure I would be
     cut.  It was very disappointing.  Obviously, what I've done,
     having Hall of Fame status, didn't matter" (ST. PETE TIMES,
     1/21)....MA-based Veryfine juices has become an official
     sponsor of NAPBL for the '99 season.  The company will
     implement a promotional program in 150 Minor League
     ballparks and receive the opportunity to sell its beverages
     at many of the venues (Veryfine)....NC Speedway in
     Rockingham signed a "multiyear deal" with Dura-Lube and
     Kmart, which will present the Winston Cup Dura-Lube/Big K
     400 in February (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 1/19)....AJ Foyt
     Enterprises signed with Pennzoil and the motor oil's logo
     will be highlighted on Foyt-backed cars, including those of
     Billy Boat and Kenny Brack during this weekend's IRL Indy
     200 in Orlando (SPEEDNET, 1/20)....Fruit of the Loom and its
     Pro Player brand have signed an exclusive licensing deal to
     manufacture apparel for Planet Hollywood and the Official
     All Star Cafe (Pro Player)....Toyota inked a two-year deal
     to become the co-title sponsor of the Schwinn Toyota Bicycle
     Stunt Team and has also renewed its co-title sponsorship of
     the Schwinn Toyota RAV4 Mountain Bike Team (Toyota)....The
     Braves and TBS will be an associate sponsor on Jerry
     Nadeau's Ford on the Winston Cup circuit (TENNESSEAN, 1/17).
          BAY WATCH: "Armageddon" Dir Michael Bay is now
     directing a new series of Nike TV ads: "I get itchy to shoot
     again.  These commercials help calm me down" (EW, 1/22).
