          In San Antonio, Glenn Rogers' survey of area sporting
     goods stores shows that the new Air Jordan XIVs "are selling
     at the same clip" as it did at this time last year.  Robert
     Gillanueva of a local Champs Store: "The lockout hasn't hurt
     at all" (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS, 11/13)....AD AGE lists
     its semi-annual report on the 200 top "Megabrands."  Nike
     ranks 25th in U.S. ad spending for the first half of '98? 
     Nike spent almost $76M of its $122M total spending on
     network TV.  adidas, which ranked 188th, spent about $29M in
     U.S. advertising, $10M of which was on network TV (AD AGE,
     11/9 issue)....National Car Rental has reached a two-year
     deal with the NTRA to become a Marketing Partner, the
     highest level of NTRA sponsorship.  National is committing
     cash and media exposure valued at $1M to become the NTRA's
     official rental company.  NTRA will also receive entitlement
     to ESPN's pre-Kentucky Derby programming (NTRA).
     ...Frederick Brewing's Big Jack Stadium Beer, introduced at
     the Redskins' first home game this season, has become the
     second best-selling beer at Jack Kent Cooke Stadium.  The
     beer is now being sold at VA, MD, WV and DC-area stores and
     restaurants (ROANOKE TIMES, 11/11).
