ANDROSTENEDI-DONE? SUBSTANCE TO BE BANNED BY MLB

          MLB Commissioner Bud Selig is expected to announce
     before spring training next season that MLB will "begin to
     prohibit players' use of androstenedione," according to
     sources of Marty York of the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL.  York
     writes that Selig and MLBPA Exec Dir Don Fehr "agreed last
     week to appoint a committee of doctors to research the
     safety" of andro and recommend whether it should be allowed
     in baseball.  York: "The tainting of [Mark] McGwire's [HR]
     record has already begun" (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 10/29).
