NFL LEAGUE MEETINGS, PART II: WHAT ELSE IS ON THE AGENDA?

At the meetings today in K.C, the NFL may make a
decision on Browns President Carmen Policy's "plea to relax
the tampering rules" for building a front-office, but
Patrick McManamon of the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL writes that
several teams "did not offer Policy and the Browns much
hope." Dolphins President Eddie Jones: "I don't think we
should do it. I think it's disruptive." Bills Owner Ralph
Wilson: "I don't think we need to say any prayers for Carmen
Policy, or kneel down and light candles for him." Tagliabue
said that the league "is considering easing the rules
regarding assistant coaches so that they could interview for
a job during the playoffs" (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 10/28).
NFL NOTES: NFL officials "made a public record request"
to the LA Gaming Control Board for all information related
to 49ers co-Owner Eddie DeBartolo's "application for the
state's last riverboat casino license" (S.J. MERCURY NEWS,
10/28)....Patriots Owner and NFL Finance Committee Chair Bob
Kraft said that the NFL hopes to sell its $600M bond
offering in the next three to 18 months (ST. PAUL PIONEER
PRESS, 10/28)....Owners also discussed league Internet and
NFL Properties opportunities (N.Y. TIMES, 10/28).
