AIRING IT OUT IN CINCY: TV AD BACKING BALLPARK SITE DEBUTS

Supporters of the Broadway Commons site for a new Reds
ballpark "plan to begin airing" a TV ad today that "blends
vintage footage" of the team "with panoramic views of the
northeastern downtown site," according to Barry Horstman of
the CINCINNATI POST. During the 30-second spot, a narrator
voiceover says, "Think back. Look ahead. Broadway is
better for baseball, for everybody." The ad also states
that Hamilton County's taxpayers "will get more and pay
less" if the park is built at Broadway. Issue 11 on the
November 3 ballot "would limit Hamilton County's choice for
a new ballpark site" to Broadway Commons, "unraveling a
tentative deal" between the Reds and the county for a
stadium located on the riverfront. But the Reds have said
that "they have no intention of moving to Broadway Commons,"
possibly setting up a "legal showdown" if Issue 11 passes
(CINCI. POST, 10/14). Riverfront supporters will have ads
airing "by the end of the week" (CINCI. ENQUIRER, 10/14).
