EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          THE QUEST: BILL MCGILLIS, former GM of the now-defunct
     ABL StingRays, has been named GM of the ABL Quest.  The
     Quest also announced the following moves: DICK GROAT was
     named Dir of Corporate Sales; KIM BLACKWELL joins the team
     as Dir of Basketball Ops & Promotions; MEGAN GRABOWSKI joins
     as Group Sales Manager; SHAWN ROBINSON replaces JIM DAY as
     Dir of Media Relations; and SUE WEIN was promoted to
     Administrative Assistant & Dir of Volunteer Services (ABL).
          OTHER EXECS: ANNA MURDOCH has retired from the board of
     News Corp., where she had served since '90 (N.Y. TIMES,
     9/15)....MLB Int'l named SHAWN LAWSON CUMMINGS Dir of
     Licensing.  He had been Group Licensing Dir at MLB
     Properties, in charge of trading cards and collectibles
     (BRANDWEEK, 9/14 issue)....SHARON SWAINSON was named Special
     Assistant to Phillies President DAVID MONTGOMERY.  Swainson
     had been Senior Program Manager of Disney's Wide World of
     Sports Complex in FL since '94 (Phillies).
