ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH OFFER NEW LAP OF LUXURY

When the Angels' refurbished ballpark, Edison Int'l
Field, opens Friday it "will be a place that more clearly
draws the lines between the haves and have-nots," according
to Barbara Kingsley of the ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER. Two
exclusive clubs are available for "high-end" ticketholders
-- the Diamond Club, for those who pay $34.50 to sit behind
home plate, and the Knothole Club on the second level, for
4,000 club-seat holders and suite holders. In all, Edison
Field has 68 new club suites, 10 dugout suites and 1,300
Diamond Club seats. Anaheim Sports President Tony Tavares
said that the team "mitigated the high prices" of the suites
and club seats by offering outfield seats that run $2-4 for
kids and $4-6 for adults. The remodeling of the stadium
cost $118M, with the city of Anaheim putting up $30M and the
Walt Disney Co. the rest (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 3/25).
