TAGLIABUE VETOES VIKINGS' PROPOSAL TO RESTRICT HEADRICK

          NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue on Tuesday told the
     Vikings "that he will not allow a Vikings board of directors
     committee to oversee team president Roger Headrick's
     decision-making, at least in the proposal's current form,"
     according to Don Banks of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE.  But
     Tagliabue and Vikings attorney John Mooty will continue to
     talk today and "are expected to find some middle ground that
     would give the board's four-man executive committee the
     power to review any decision considered outside the team's
     normal conduct of business" (STAR TRIBUNE, 2/11).
