THIRD TIME'S A CHARM? TWINS BILL PASSES MN SENATE COMMITTEE

A MN Senate committee "took the first step Tuesday
toward building" a $284M stadium for the Twins, according to
Robert Whereatt of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. The bill
approved by the committee now may advance to the House,
"where opposition always has been more palpable and the
issue more politically sensitive." In related news, MN AG
Hubert Humphrey III filed a motion yesterday in district
court asking that the Twins, MLB and others in baseball "be
compelled to answer questions regarding potential antitrust
     violations" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/11).
