FACILITY NOTES

Although MN-based Northwest Airlines would be a "likely
candidate" to have an interest in acquiring naming rights to
a new Twins ballpark, an airline spokesperson said the
company prefers "to put our name on things that move and
fly" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 10/16)...Prince George's
(MD) County execs broke ground on a new $31M, sports complex
near the Redskins' Jack Kent Cooke Stadium (WASHINGTON POST,
10/16)....A 100-acre site on the UConn campus "is emerging
as the preferred location" for the school's new 35,000-seat
stadium. The proposed $107M stadium would include 24 suites
and 800 club seats (HARTFORD COURANT, 10/15)....In Boston,
87 ushers at the FleetCenter voted to authorize a strike if
the FleetCenter "persists in promoting a contract" that
allows new hires to work at top events such as Bruins and
Celtics games. Should the strike occur, fans at the games
"may be ushered to seats ... by top managers" (Diane Lewis,
     BOSTON GLOBE, 10/15).
