MICHAEL BIDWILL FACING "CHALLENGES" IN PURSUIT OF NEW DOME

          NFL Cardinals Exec VP Michael Bidwill, son of team
     Owner Bill Bidwill, was profiled by Lee Shappell of the
     ARIZONA REPUBLIC.  Michael is the Cards' liaison to the East
     Valley Partnership, the "driving force" for the National
     Sports Center, a new multipurpose domed stadium for the
     Cards.  Since "coming on board, Bidwill has impressed those
     around him as a dynamo, a tireless worker.  Most important,
     in the eyes of some, is that Bidwill is perceived as 180
     degrees from his dad."  His "challenge" is "convincing a
     wary public that the National Sports Center is more than
     just a fancy playpen for a fat-cat sports entrepreneur." 
     The Partnership "is in the process of making presentations
     to cities, hoping to convince the various councils to opt
     into the stadium district" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 8/11).
